California's schools gird for steep cuts

Daniel Moore, 11, foreground, works on his basketball skills at Tucker Elementary in Long Beach. The school will be closed, saving about $1 million for the district, which needs to trim or shift $40 million to balance its budget. “It’s a little bit of a nightmare in terms of morale,” said school board member Dave Barton about the fiscal measures that must be taken.

What is wrong with California? The Govenator decided to come up with a budget that could possibly require a 4.8 Billion Dollar cut in Education spending. California schools need more money not less.
